Backups
The Backups menu allows you to schedule automated backups or run them manually on demand.
The Backups page has two tabs:
- Tasks: Create, edit, and manage backup configurations
- History: View completed, failed, and running backup operations
This tab allows you to create and manage backup configurations. Each backup task defines which R2 bucket to backup, how often to run the backup, and how many backup copies to retain.
Creating a Backup Task
Section titled “Creating a Backup Task”To create a new backup task, see Creating a Backup Task
Backup Task Cards
Section titled “Backup Task Cards”Once you’ve created backup tasks, they are listed here.
When a backup is actively running, the task card displays a pulsing blue status indicator.

Section titled “Task Actions”Each backup task provides the following actions:
- Run Now: Immediately start a new backup without waiting for the scheduled time
- Stop: Cancel a currently running backup
- Edit: Modify the task’s configuration, the process is largely the same as Creating a Backup Task
- Delete: Delete the backup task configuration and remove it from the task schedule
History
Section titled “History”The History tab shows all backup runs, including completed, failed, and currently running backups. Each backup run is displayed as a card with detailed information about the operation.

- Duration: How long the backup took to complete
- Files: Number of files transferred, and how many were skipped (already up to date)
- Size: Total amount of data transferred
- Bucket: Which R2 bucket was backed up
Failed Backups
Section titled “Failed Backups”If a backup fails, an error message explains what went wrong

If Preserve backup files is not selected, the local files will also be deleted.
Backup Storage Location
Section titled “Backup Storage Location”All backups are stored in the location you configured in Settings.
Within that location, each backup task creates its own folder structure:
R2Clone/ └── [Bucket Name]/ └── [Source Path]/ └── [files and folders]Each completed task uses the taskname and completed time for the directory the contents are stored in.
For example, a backup task named “bluebird” of /Documents from the bluebird bucket would be stored at:
